What is marketing attribution?
Marketing attribution examines how different channels and touchpoints contribute to conversions. For hospitality brands, this can include the path from an ad or search visit to a reservation and, where integrations allow, revenue recorded at the point of sale. It is how we judge paid search campaigns and every other channel we run.

- First touch: An ad, a search or an AI answer.

Tracking & Attribution questions
How do restaurants attribute bookings to marketing?
By connecting available marketing touchpoints with reservation data and, where supported, point-of-sale transactions. CoverStory brings this information together to help hospitality brands understand which channels contribute to bookings and revenue.
What is CoverStory?
CoverStory is NovaStory's hospitality attribution platform. It connects supported marketing, reservation and transaction data to provide a clearer picture of how marketing activity contributes to bookings and revenue.
Why don't Google's and Meta's numbers match our bookings?
Google and Meta use different attribution methods and reporting windows, meaning both platforms may claim credit for the same booking. Connecting available marketing data with reservations and point-of-sale transactions provides a more consistent view of performance and reduces reliance on individual platform reporting.
How long does it take to get tracking in place?
A tracking audit comes first. Fixes and setup follow in the first weeks of onboarding, and your dashboard goes live with your first campaigns.
Is attribution useful for multi-site groups?
Especially so. Reporting by site shows which locations marketing is genuinely helping, and where budget should move next.
Can you track private hire and event enquiries too?
Yes. Enquiry forms and CRM stages can be tracked through to confirmed revenue, so high-value bookings are counted properly.
